Word for Every Day “Mustard Seed” is a daily devotional that builds faith and hope, and is based on biblical values.
Mustard Seed offers a very compact way to read a Bible verse, a short reflection and a prayer in a few minutes. It ignites faith, renews hope and gives a good dose of God’s love for the whole day.
“The Mustard Seed was started by God Himself, but He has entrusted it to be created and led by Martin Donga. Although it began as a translation of Joel Osteen’s daily devotional, God slowly separated it and made it Martin Donga’s original work.
It is important to stress that nothing would have started without Jānis Vekmanis and Kristīne Kārkliņa. They could be called the “mustard seed’s” mum and dad. It was thanks to the daily reflections translated by Kristīne and sent out by Jānis that Martin Donga came up with the idea of creating a Whatsapp group called “Mustard Seed” on 13 January 2019.
Since 2019, Mustard Grain has grown a lot and reaches readers on various social platforms. In Latvian, it is available not only in writing, but also in audio format on YouTube. In the winter of 2021, “Mustard Seed” started to reach readers in English and Russian. Over time, German was added. Depending on volunteer involvement, the text has also been translated into French, Portuguese, Romanian, Ewe, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Ukrainian and Persian. Special thanks to the volunteer helpers who serve with their talents so that we can all start every day with a new “Mustard Seed”.
